Crews will return to a remote section of Virginia's Great Dismal Swamp on Monday to recover the bodies of four Florida residents killed in a plane crash.
Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller says crews brought an excavator and a pump to the crash site on Sunday to remove debris and water near the wreckage.
Geller says the twin-propeller Cessna 340 left Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport in Florida on Thursday morning. It was scheduled to arrive four hours later at Hampton Roads Executive Airport. The Norfolk air traffic control tower's last radar contact was shortly before noon Thursday over the swamp.
A private helicopter crew spotted the wreckage on Friday.
The victims included the pilot and three passengers. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
