Gene Warren shot to death Saturday night outside Troy's Lounge

Authorities are looking for a gunman who shot and killed a man outside a Fort Lauderdale liquor store over the weekend.

Gene Warren, 39, was shot and killed Saturday night after stopping at Troy's Lounge at 2990 W. Sunrise Boulevard, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Elderly Woman Found Stabbed to Death in Miami

Warren, from Coral Springs, had just made a purchase and was returning to his car behind the store when he was killed around 9:10 p.m., the BSO said.

The BSO said a the gunman, identified as a black male, got out of the back seat of a black Chrysler 200 and opened fire, hitting Warren several times, before getting back in the car and fleeing the scene.

Miami Lawmakers Push for Gun Control Bills

Warren was taken to Broward General Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case and are asking anyone with info to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
