Scott Rothstein's Wife Seeks Another Sentence Delay

Wife of convicted Ponzi schemer seeking delay so she can testify against others in case

The wife of convicted Ponzi schemer and disbarred lawyer Scott Rothstein is asking for another sentencing delay so she can testify against others in the case.

The attorney for Kim Rothstein said she hopes to get a reduced sentence in exchange for testimony against two men accused of helping her sell jewelry federal agents wanted to seize as part of the fraud's profits. Kim Rothstein currently faces a maximum five-year prison sentence for hiding and trying to sell about $1 million in jewelry.

Kim Rothstein wants her current sentencing date of Oct. 7 postponed until after the conclusion of the Oct. 21 trial in which she is to testify.

Scott Rothstein is serving 50 years for operating a $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme involving fake legal settlements.
