Several Injured by Turbulence on Miami-Bound Flight

Two flight attendants, handful of passengers injured on rough plane ride to MIA

Two flight attendants and a handful of passengers were injured when a Miami-bound American Airlines flight experienced turbulence Tuesday night.

American Airlines flight 1780 from Aruba to Miami experienced moderate turbulence which lasted for about 15 minutes before the plane landed at Miami International Airport shortly after 6 p.m., airline spokesman Matt Miller said.

The Boeing 757, which had 185 passengers and 6 crew members, was about 30 minutes from Miami when the turbulence began.

The two flight attendants were taken to the hospital as a precaution while the passengers were treated for minor injuries at the gate by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue workers.
