Robber Fondled, Robbed Woman: Miami Police

Police release sketch of man who fondled, undressed and robbed woman

Miami Police released a sketch Wednesday of a man they say undressed and fondled a woman before robbing her in a frightening encounter last month.

Police say the woman was walking home from the grocery store  to her apartment in the 600 block of Northwest 56th Street on the afternoon of Dec. 18 when the man approached her from behind.

The suspect grabbed her ponytail and forced her to a location in the apartment complex, where he took off her shirt and tied it around her eyes to impair her vision, police said.

As the man continued to undress her, he started to fondle the woman until he was spooked by someone who was in the area.

Miami Police spokesman Freddie Cruz said a man involved with recent robberies fits the description. The victim said the sketch is very accurate, Cruz said.

The man was able to rummage through the woman's purse and made off with cash and some of the woman's clothing.

"He tied me. I feel very naked. He robbed $400 from me and my cell phone," the woman told NBC Miami. "Yes. I was very, very afraid."

Police described the suspect as a black male in his 20s, about 5-foot-9, 150 pounds, clean shaven with a medium complexion and gold teeth.
