Suspect Named in Gibson Park Shooting

Police looking for 20-year-old suspect in shooting of 3 during youth football game

Miami Police are asking for the public's help in finding a 20-year-old man who they say shot three people during a youth football game at an Overtown park.

Police say Jamar Anton Jordan fired indiscriminately into a crowd at Gibson Park at 401 Northwest 12th Street around 9:30 Friday night during a Pop Warner Optimist football game.

Jordan had gotten into an argument just before the shooting, police said. Three people were hit with bullets as a large crowd dashed for cover. The victims suffered non life-threatening injuries and are all expected to make a full recovery.

Overtown had just celebrated the park's re-opening after a multimillion-dollar facelift.

Jordan is described as a black male, 6-foot-0, 140 pounds, with gold teeth, two tear drop tattoos under his right eye and the letters M&M under his left eye.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
