Tamarac Man Secretly Taped Tenant in Nude: BSO

Man charged with filming roommate also facing child pornography charges: BSO

A Tamarac man is facing video voyeurism and child pornography charges after a woman who was renting a room from him discovered naked videos of herself when she borrowed his computer, authorities said.

William Anthony Raber, 27, is facing 17 counts of child pornography, one count of video voyeurism and one count of computer pornography following his arrest Saturday, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office arrest report obtained Wednesday.

He was ordered held on $162,000 bond and it was unknown whether he has an attorney.

"She called me crying,” the victim’s mother said in Spanish. “'Mommy they are recording me. I can't believe it. The gentleman where I am living is recording me.' And ... what she did was grab everything and came here immediately."

According to the report, the victim began renting a room from Raber and his wife in April for $350 a month at their home in the 6000 block of Northwest 68th Terrace. The bedroom door had a lock but it could only be locked from the inside.

Last month, the woman used Raber's computer to access the Internet but started looking through files, the report said.

"[The victim] stated that when she left Mr. Raber's computer she got this feeling (possibly curiosity) that there was something about her on Mr. Raber's computer," the report said.

The woman found one file named "Porn" that had numerous adult videos and pictures, and when she clicked on one, it showed Raber in her bedroom placing a camera, the report said.

She kept watching and saw herself naked in her bedroom, the report said. Three others videos also showed her naked in the room at different times, the report said.

The woman copied the videos, along with two videos of what she believed to be child pornography, onto a USB and reported the incident to the BSO, the report said.

Investigators found the four videos of the victim, as well as a child pornography video file on the USB, the report said.

When a search warrant was served at Raber's home on Saturday, deputies found more child pornography images on his computer, the report said.

Raber admitted to downloading the child pornography and to recording the woman in her bedroom using a small camera, the report said.

"She was always careful and checked air conditioners to make sure there was no camera. She was always careful of that, that they would not be doing her harm," the victim's mother said.
