The first day of October started out with partly cloudy skies and mainly dry conditions in South Florida.
There's a chance for isolated showers Tuesday, and highs will be around 89. Wednesday will be partly sunny with scattered showers and highs again at 89.
Shower and thunderstorm chances will continue to climb as the week moves ahead. This is in response to a wave of moisture moving to the south.
In the Northwest Caribbean, an area of disturbed weather is hanging around and moving westward. There is some chance for development in the days ahead as it moves towards the Yucatan peninsula.
While development is not imminent, it is likely this wave will open the gates to more moisture across the area, therefore a stormier forecast will return late in the week.
Tropical Storm Jerry continues to linger in the Atlantic with winds at 45 mph.
