Dog went missing after Christmas Eve crash in Central Florida

It was a New Year's miracle for a South Florida family.

They've been reunited with their missing black Labrador who went missing after a Christmas Eve crash in central Florida that killed 54-year-old Chris Goss as the family drove home from vacation.

Her 18-year-old son Jeffery Goss, longtime companion Steven Hausman and his 17-year-old daughter Elyssa escaped with minor injuries. But they couldn't Tasha, the dog.

The family returned home to Weston and gave up hope of finding Tasha.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that the day after Goss' funeral, a Volusia County animal control officer called with news Tasha was found near the crash site.

She needed 32 stitches, but was otherwise ok.

A veterinary technician drove the dog to Weston for a family reunion.
