A woman who was the victim of an attempted robbery at a Homestead gas station Monday was run over by the suspect after she fought back, police said.
The robbery happened around 10:30 a.m. as the woman was pumping gas at the Sunoco station at U.S. 1 and Southwest 308th Street, police said.
When the man's robbery attempt failed, he got into a car and drove over the woman, police said.
Surveillance video captured the crime and shows another woman rushing to help the victim. The customer came to her aid and dialed 911.
The woman was airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center where she was in serious condition, police said.
Police are looking for the suspect and describe him as a Latin male in his 20s with a slender build, short cropped hair and goatee. He was driving a black 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe.
"On the video you'll see it's a black Hyundai Santa Fe we believe is a 2013," said Det. Fernando Morales of the Homestead Police.
