Woman Stranded in Everglades Rescued By BSO

Woman found nine miles from where car was abandoned

Broward County fire rescue officials used an airboat to rescue a woman who was stranded in the Everglades.

Sheriff's office spokesman Mike Jachles told the South Florida Sun Sentinel the woman was screaming for help when authorities spotted her Monday night.

Jachles says the woman was taken to a hospital, but appeared to have no external injuries.

Authorities say they found the woman's abandoned car about nine miles from the spot she was found.

Deputies did not release the woman's name. No further details were immediately available.
