Dems Release Finalists for Anti-Rush Billboard Slogan

The DNC will protest Limbaugh's anti-Obama remarks with a billboard in his Florida hometown

The Democratic National Committee has chosen five final slogans in its anti-Limbaugh billboard contest, one of which will trash-talk radio host Rush Limbaugh on a giant slap in the face the DNC will post in the conservative's hometown.

The DNC sent a letter to its members last week asking for phrases of ten words or less to splash across a billboard to be displayed in Limbaugh's hometown of West Palm Beach, Fla., as close to Limbaugh's "backyard" as they can get.

The five slogans the DNC will choose between are, in no particular order: "Americans didn't vote for a Rush to fail," "Hope and change cannot be Rush'd," "Failure is not an option for America's future," "We can fix America, just don't Rush it," and "Rush: Say Yes to America."

The conservative Limbaugh said last week that he hopes President Barack Obama's administration will "fail" and has blasted Obama and his administration since the president took office in January.

The only Republican to immediately publicly condemn Limbaugh's insults was Republican National Committee Michael Steele, who called Limbaugh several days later to apologize. Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and presidential also-ran Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said this week Limbaugh's words were too harsh and expressed the wrong mindset for the Republican party.

"We have no apologies for Rush, just a message," said the letter, written by DNC Executive Director Jen O'Malley Dillon. "If Republican leaders aren't willing to tell Rush, we will."

The writer of the winning slogan will receive a t-shirt printed with the phrase and the honor of having his or her words rubbed in Limbaugh's face -- "where he can't miss it," the letter said.

Those dying to bash Limbaugh can submit their slogans at the DNC's website.
