Sarah Palin Ignores McCain on Twitter

Gov. Sarah Palin isn't Twitter friends with her former running mate

You could soon be getting minute-by-minute updates from the pitbull in lipstick.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin now has a Twitter account and is posting regularly to the social networking site.

The vice-presidential also-ran created her Twitter Wednesday and has already "tweeted" several times -- about the media, her staff and her home state.

Under her bio, Palin has her job description listed as "creating New Energy for Alaskans as governor of the 49th state!"

What, no Russia-watching?

Palin's first tweet, under the handle AKGovSarahPalin, promised followers that she'd provide "updates on issues concerning Alaskans."

Later posts indicted the AP for "gravely misquoting her staff" and promoted a job fair in the northern state.

As of Thursday morning, Palin had 6,642 followers and was following 36 other Twitter users -- including conservative pundits Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity as well as fellow Republicans Karl Rove, Calif. Gov Arnold Schwarzenegger and Newt Gingrich.

Noticeably absent? Former running mate Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz).

Celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Ashton Kutcher have created a firestorm around the social site, boosting its visitors to the tens of millions across the globe.
