SoCal Mom Gets Flowers, Beating from Deliverymen

Your flower deliveryman may stab you.

That's the warning a Rancho Palos Verdes mother told reporters after two armed men posing as flower deliverymen burst into her home and robbed her.

The 50-year-old mother of four told the Daily Breeze that the frightening ordeal began on April 27 when she got a phone call about 2:40 p.m. with someone saying "we have flowers for you."

The victim, who believes the attackers knew her name by stealing her mail, said that when the deliverymen arrived, she opened the door. That's when things got violent, the Daily Breeze reported:

The gunman grabbed her by the neck and whispered, "Do as I say and you won't get hurt," she recalled. "The guy with the gun held me with my hair. He banged me on the head with the gun and hit me on the mouth with the gun and on my nose."

The men dragged her around the house, demanding to know where the safe was located. One man kicked her and punched her, stabbing her in the leg, and ordering her not to look at him.

"The more I begged, the more they hit me," she told the newspaper. "The first punch was so painful."

The victim said she is fearful that with Mother's Day on Sunday, someone else may have the same experience.

"This is scary. This is not a normal crime," she told the Daily Breeze. "I have not dealt with this yet. It's unreal to me."
