Man Shot and Killed in Lauderhill Saturday Morning: Cops

Police have not yet released name or age

Police confirm that a man has been killed in a Monday morning shooting in Lauderhill.

Lauderhill Police spokesperson Captain Constance Stanley confirmed to NBC Miami that a male had been fatally injured after being shot in the 1800 block of NW 55th Avenue.

Fabian Chambers, a resident of the neighborhood, saw the tragedy transpire first-hand.

"Seeing somebody get shot, and dying right in front of your face is hard," Chambers said.

The witness told NBC Miami that he rushed to his neighbor's aid and saw his gasping for air.

Several neighbors said their Saturday morning was interrupted by numerous gun shots. As many as seven shots were reported by several people.

Police were called to the scene a little bit before 10 a.m.

Neither the victim’s name nor age had been released, awaiting notification of next of kin.
