One person was hospitalized and a man was in custody after a shooting in South Beach late Sunday night.

Officers responding to calls of a shooting at 1255 Collins Avenue around 9:30 p.m. found the victim shot in the abdomen, Miami Beach Police said.

The victim was taken to Ryder Trauma Center where their condition was unknown.

Officers detained several individuals in the area after a "be on the lookout" alert was issued, but a short time later a man called police and said he was the shooter and was in his car outside the Miami Beach Police station, police said.

The man, who was in possession of a weapon, was taken into custody, police said. Police haven't released his identity.

The incident is still being investigated.
