1 Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Sunrise

One person has died after an early morning motorcycle crash in Sunrise Tuesday, Florida Highway Patrol confirms.

According to FHP, they received a call just after 6:00 a.m. of that crash. The motorcycle and the involved vehicle were traveling northbound towards eastbound Sunrise Boulevard when the crash occurred. Both vehicles crossed lanes into the grassy area, according to police.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, police confirm.

The condition of the driver of the car is not yet known.

NBC 6 metro traffic cameras earlier showed the motorcycle laying on its side in the grass, along with a small white car that was likely involved in the accident, as well as a white sheet nearby covering what appears to be a body.

Westbound lanes of Sunrise Boulevard approaching the Sawgrass Expressway northbound were closed, as was the Sunrise Boulevard exit ramp from Sawgrass Expressway northbound. FHP confirmed that all roads in the area would be closed for some time as they responded to the scene.
