A crash along a busy Broward County roadway involving a school bus sent 18 people to the hospital with minor injuries Friday morning.

Chopper 6 was over the scene along I-595 eastbound near Davie Road shortly before 9:30 a.m., where at least three cars could be seen with heavy damage following the crash along with the bus.

Florida Highway Patrol officials say a total of 14 kids onboard the bus, which was from World of Kids Transportation, were transported to area hospitals - 10 to Broward General Medical Center and four to Plantation General Hospital - while four adults were also hospitalized.

None of the injuries are considered serious, according to FHP officials.

The children were part of a group from a Pembroke Pines church heading to a volunteer project, according to those associated with the group.

"I just heard the girls start screaming and glass shatter and saw the car roll by the right side of the bus," said Nicholas Vasquez, who was on the bus. "It was insane."

Families of those involved with students are advised to call the FHP at 954-242-3340 for reunification information.
