Police and firefighters are investigating after a woman was found dead following a fire in Homestead.
The fire was reported around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at a duplex home at 628 Southwest Krome Terrace. The victim's body was found just outside the home. The victim has not been identified by police, but a man claiming to be her boyfriend tells NBC 6 that the victim was a 34-year-old woman from North Carolina.
Neighbors also say that the duplex had been abandoned for some time, but that the woman had reportedly been at the vacant location for a while and was known to neighbors and to police.
Arson investigators are working to determine the cause of that fire.
