1 Killed in Fiery Pompano Beach Crash: BSO

Investigators with the Broward Sheriff's Office are working to determine what caused a fiery crash in Pompano Beach that left one driver dead.

Deputies say the driver was headed east on Wiles Road just after 9 p.m. Monday night when he lost control of his dark-colored sedan and crossed over the median. The driver flipped and hit a utility pole and was thrown from the car, which then caught fire.

BSO Fire Rescue put out the fire, and pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

The victim has only been described as an adult male and has not been identified by deputies.

Traffic homicide is investigating the crash.
