Video of the scene appeared to show police presence inside a parking garage at the complex, and a witness who lives at the complex said he spotted someone dead on the ground in the parking garage before police arrived.

"There was a dead person just laying in there, there was blood on the car that was next to it. And I pulled out and as I was pulling out, all these cops were pulling in. I would say there must've been 15 cop cars coming in at the same time," Fred Gropack said. "I saw it as I was kind of turning and there was blood all over."

Video of the scene appears to show police presence inside a parking garage in Sunrise after a stabbing on May 28, 2025.

Gropack said by the time he returned, the garage was swarming with officers.

"When I came back, they put out something to block the body and the CSI groups were here. There were around 30 cop cars," he said.

Officers were later seen standing guard while staff from the medical examiner's office left the complex with the body.

A tow truck was also seen hauling off a Mercedes sedan from the scene.

The stabbing took some neighbors by surprise.

"I just moved in here a couple months ago. I hope it's nothing serious," a driver who only wanted to be identified as James said. "I just saw a tarp up."

"Crazy, I've been five years here. Time to leave," resident Ana Maria said.

Police said they are not searching for a suspect and there is no danger to residents.

The investigation is ongoing.
