Woman Killed in Early Morning Crash in Lauderhill

One person was killed in an early morning crash that caused a major roadway in Lauderhill to be closed Wednesday.

Officers arrived at the scene near State Road 7 and Northwest 21st Street just after 2 a.m., where the female driver of a white vehicle was killed after colliding with another vehicle.

Lt. Mike Santiago of the Lauderhill Police Department said an early investigation of the crash showed the white car was traveling southbound when it was struck by a car turning from the northbound lanes.

Santiago added the driver of the second vehicle left the scene initially before returning and is cooperating with the investigation. Officials have not released the name of the victim at this time.

Drivers were advised to avoid State Road 7 between Northwest 19th and 24th Streets as it is closed during the investigation.
