12 Cuban Migrants Spotted by Cruise Ship Crew; 1 Treated for Foot Injury

The U.S. Coast Guard was alerted and took all 12 people

Twelve Cuban migrants on a raft were spotted by the Navigator of the Seas cruise ship Sunday.

One of the migrants, a 40-year-old man, had a foot injury and was allowed to go aboard the ship for treatment, said Royal Caribbean spokeswoman Cynthia Martinez in an email statement.

The U.S. Coast Guard was alerted and took all 12 people, Martinez said.

A telephone call left after hours for the Coast Guard wasn't immediately returned.

The cruise ship was en route to Grand Cayman.
