Miami-Dade Fire Rescue picked up 13 Cuban rafters found in the waters off Key Biscayne Wednesday.
The men were found in the water about 500 yards from shore and said they had been at sea for seven days, fire rescue officials said.
One man had tried to swim to shore and was in distress. He was being stabilized, officials said.
The rafters would be placed in the care of the U.S. Coast Guard, officials said.
