13 Workers Injured in Florida Jail Blast Could Lose Jobs

Thirteen workers injured in an explosion at the Escambia County Jail could lose their jobs if they don't return to work soon.

The Pensacola News Journal reports the workers were informed by letter that the county will proceed with medical separations if they don't return to full duty by May 15. However, the county would continue to cover their injury-related medical treatment. The letter said there's "no choice but to move forward."

The April 2014 explosion injured 200 and killed two.

In a letter to county commissioners, Kelley Bradford said she's upset with the way the situation is being handled.

Bradford, who received a heroism award for her actions, says her doctor hasn't cleared her to return to work and she's still using sick leave to cover her absence.
