More than a dozen people were displaced by a fire at a home in Allapattah early Thursday, Miami fire officials said.
The fire was reported at a home in the 2600 block of Northwest 12th Avenue just after 4 a.m.
Fire investigators said it started when a man tried lighting a cigarette and sparks from the lighter fell on some paper.
The flames quickly spread to curtains and set the whole house on fire, displacing 14 people.
No injuries were reported and the Red Cross is helping out the residents.
