A 16-year-old is recovering in the hospital after being shot in Miami Gardens Sunday evening.
According to officials, the shooting happened just before 6 p.m. in the area of Northwest 18th Avenue and 179th Street.
Detectives told NBC6 a 16-year-old was standing in the street when he was approached by a dark colored vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle then shot the teenager and fled the scene.
Police are not sure at this time if the 16-year-old was targeted.
The teenager has not been identified, and is recovering in the hospital, where his condition is unknown.
