2 Boys Critically Injured in Dania Beach Hit and Run

Two young brothers were left critically injured after they were hit by a vehicle that then sped away from the scene in Dania Beach Monday.

The accident happened just before 7 p.m. along 100 Bryan Road. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle that hit the two pedestrians was a white Toyota truck or SUV. BSO identified the vehicle after its grill ornament was left at the scene.

"This was a terrible accident, this was a terribly tragic crash," BSO spokeswoman Dani Moschella said.

The BSO said the truck or SUV will have damage to the front passenger side of the car and will also be missing headlight and fog light covers.

BSO said both the teenager and the school-aged boy are severely injured and in critical condition.

Family members identified the victims as 8-year-old Apollo Brown Jr. and 14-year-old Kelv'ron Florence. She said he was still in critical condition Tuesday morning.

"I just need my boys, I want my boys at home with me, I just need my boys," mother Selena Brown said Tuesday.

Brown said her sons were on their way home from a basketball game when they were struck by the vehicle.

"Like, they just left my son to die on the side of the road," father Apollo Brown said.

Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
