2 Dead, 1 Critical After Fiery Crash in Virginia Gardens

Footage showed at least two cars were involved in the crash, with debris scattered all over the roadway

Two people were killed and a third was left critically injured in a fiery crash in Virginia Gardens Monday.

The crash happened shortly after 12:30 p.m. in the area of Northwest 36th Street and Northwest 57th Avenue, near Miami Springs and Miami International Airport, Miami-Dade Police officials said.

A surveillance camera captured the violent impact between the two cars at the intersection. A van was also involved in the crash.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said when they responded to the crash, one of the vehicles was on fire. Cell phone footage showed flames and smoke pouring out of the car just after impact.

Police said two adults were killed at the scene and the third was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. Their identities haven't been released.

Traffic homicide detectives are investigating the cause of the crash.
