An investigation is underway following a murder-suicide that took place Sunday morning.
According to police, a woman identified as Danielle Tompkins was standing outside talking to a male friend along Northwest 17th Avenue and Northwest 71st Street.
That’s when police said Tomkin’s boyfriend came up and shot them. Tompkins died and her friend was taken to Ryder Trauma Center with serious injuries.
Police identified the shooter as Nathaniel Benjamin Mincey.
Officials said he left the area after shooting both people. He eventually killed himself at Northwest 18th Avenue and 66th Street.
