Missing Child Alert for Fellsmere Siblings Canceled: FDLE

Two children from Indian River County, Florida who were reported missing have been safely recovered, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirms.

Officials said on Tuesday that 10-month-old Lizeht Gamez-Flores and 4-year-old Edward Gamez had last been seen on Friday in the 100 block of North Oak Street in Fellsmere, Florida, which is located just north of Vero Beach on Florida's east coast.

The children were believed to be in the company of their parents, 24-year-old Edward Gamez and his girlfriend, 21-year-old Maria Lopez.

According to Vero Beach Police, Gamez is wanted in connection with a Jan. 21 shooting. He's facing charges of First Degree Murder with a Firearm, and Attempted First Degree Murder with a Firearm.

FDLE reported Friday morning that the children had been found safely and in the company of their mother.

Fellsmere Police have closed their investigation into the children's disappearance, and will be referring all media inquiries to the Vero Beach Police Department.

Vero Beach Police have obtained warrants for Gamez' arrest and are continuing their search for him.
