A woman is being questioned after officers who responded to a reported hostage situation at a club in Miami Monday afternoon found no one inside, police said.

Miami Police officers and SWAT responded to the 1900 block of Northwest 7th Street in Little Havana for the incident.

Police said a woman reported that she was robbed of a cell phone outside Joseph Club at 1971 Northwest 7th Street. When officers arrived, another woman came out and said about 12 people were being held hostage inside, police said.

Officials said SWAT breached the door of the club and found no one inside or in harm's way.

The woman who reported the hostage situation was being detained for questioning, officials said.

Nearby Citrus Grove Elementary and Jr High were on lockdown as a precaution, police said. The lockdowns were later lifted.

Residents were advised to avoid the area on Northwest 7th Street between Northwest 22nd Avenue and Northwest 17th Avenue, which was shut down and later reopened.

No other information was known.
