2 More Zika Cases Confirmed in Miami-Dade

Two more Zika cases have been confirmed in Miami-Dade County, Florida Department of Health officials said Thursday.

The total case now confirmed in Miami-Dade is nine. There are 24 cases throughout Florida, and all are travel related.

There have been no locally-acquired cases of Zika in Florida and none of the confirmed cases involve pregnant women.

Gov. Rick Scott has directed State Surgeon General Dr. John Armstrong to activate a Zika Virus Information Hotline for current Florida residents and visitors, as well as anyone planning on traveling to Florida in the near future. The number for the hotline, managed by the Department of Health, is 1-855-622-6735.
