2 Motorcyclists Killed by Spool of Electrical Wire in Central Florida

Two motorcycle riders were killed in central Florida when a spool of electrical wire broke loose from a passing truck and struck their bike.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that both people were pronounced dead Tuesday morning near the intersection of State Road 415 and Celery Avenue in Seminole Country. The riders were ejected from the bike upon impact, and the vehicle then caught fire.

The agency said the truck carrying the large spool of wire originally left the scene but was later found and returned to the crash. The incident is still under investigation and charges are pending.

Authorities have not identified the victims.
