2 Orlando Officers Fatally Shoot Man During Incident at Condo

Officials say two police officers fatally shot a 28-year-old man who refused orders to drop his gun at a central Florida condominium complex.

Orlando Police Chief John Mina says it happened Monday night during a suspicious incident call at Courtney Landing condos.

During a news conference, Mina said it was unclear how many times the officers fired. It also wasn't clear whether the slain man, Eric Provost, fired any shots.

The officers weren't injured.

Mina says a military veteran who lives at the complex came outside with a gun after the shooting, but immediately complied with orders to drop his weapon.

Provost was white. One officer is a Hispanic man, and the other a black woman.

The officers are on administrative leave while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigates.
