Officers arrived at the scene near NW 7th Avenue and Miami Gardens Drive before 8 a.m. after reports of a three car crash there.
Nearby witnesses told NBC 6 that there was a crash between two cars at the scene before a third vehicle that had two teens inside got involved, though police did not confirm that information.
Witnesses say the impact of the crash, in which a black Acura hit a light pole, was so hard it knocked the pole off the sidewalk.
"I saw a metal pole going down," said Lesa Brown, who shot video of the moments before police arrived.
Brown said she saw two people being extricated by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews.

Miami Gardens Police said two people were transferred to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but would not say which vehicle they were in.
