2 Florida Sheriff's Deputies Injured During Domestic Call

Two Florida sheriff's deputies are recovering from injuries received while responding to a domestic disturbance call.

Sheriff Wayne Ivey says deputies Michael Hiricso and Marie Skinner went to a home in Mims on Tuesday after a caller to 911 expressed concern for a woman who was screaming at a nearby home.

Ivey says the deputies went to the back of the home to investigate after hearing a commotion. There, a folding baton was used on both deputies.

Ivey tells Florida Today he's angry and frustrated that deputies were injured while trying to help someone.

The sheriff says 22-year-old Skylar Francis faces two counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer while 22-year-old Courtney Johnson was charged with resisting arrest without violence. Records don't indicate whether they've hired attorneys.
