Police searching for men who broke into home early Tuesday

Two men are in custody and police are searching for two others following a home invasion in Allapattah early Tuesday.

The incident began around 1 a.m., when two suspects broke into a home in the 1100 block of Northwest 29th Street and tied up the homeowner.

"I was hearing somebody playing with the door knob, so I came and I grabbed a knife, opened the door, soon as I seen somebody rushing in I go, 'hmm,' but they both tackle me," homeowner Eduardo Liriano said.

Liriano said one of the men hit him on the head with a gun before they both tied him up.

"I was put on the corner 'til they did whatever they did and they left me tied up with a pillowcase over my face," he said.

The thieves stole Liriano's cell phone and other electronics and fled the scene. Liriano was left with minor injuries, police said.

“I pretty much thought I was dead but thank God I’m alive to see another day," Liriano said.

Police say the investigation into the robbery led officers to a home in the area of Southwest 19th Street and 24th Avenue in Miami, where they encountered two suspects.
