2 Killed in Head-On Collision Outside Fire Station

Officials say two people were killed in a South Florida head-on collision.

Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Steve Rogers told the Palm Beach Post that the SUV and pickup truck crashed early Thursday morning just outside one of their stations. Crews were returning from another crash when they spotted the two vehicles completely engulfed in flames.

Rogers says firefighters put out the flames and then spent hours trying to pull the vehicles apart. The roadway was finally cleared of debris around 8 a.m.

Both drivers died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Officials weren't immediately identifying the victims.
