Two men died after a shooting over the weekend at Florida Memorial University, school officials said Monday.
The shooting happened late Saturday and was a result of a verbal altercation between the two men who shot at each other, Miami Gardens police said.
The victims' identities were not released. Students said one of them attended FMU, and the other student did not.
"Today, the FMU family grieves with those who lost their friends and loved ones," school officials said in a statement. "Our condolences and prayers are with the victim’s families during this time of bereavement."
The school said grief counselors and other resources are available to students.
