2 Pedestrians Struck by Car in South Miami

Two pedestrians were struck by a car in a crash in South Miami Wednesday that sent five people to local hospitals.

The crash happened near U.S. 1 and Sunset Drive, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said. Three patients were taken to the West-End Trauma Center and two were taken to other hospitals, fire rescue officials said. Their conditions were unknown.

South Miami Police officials said two pedestrians were struck at the scene but no other information was known.

The crash caused a number of delays in the area and had U.S. 1 closed between Southwest 57th and Southwest 62nd Avenues.
