Homicide detectives are investigating after two adults were found dead in a home in Deerfield Beach Wednesday morning.
Broward Sheriff's Office officials said the discovery was made at a home at 411 Northeast 39th Street around 9:40 a.m. Employees of a doctor's office went to check on their coworker, who didn't show up for work.
Officials identified the victims as 41-year-old Jessica Aponte and 24-year-old Luis Alberto Lopez Sanchez. The woman lived at the home but her relationship with the man was unknown.
"Homicide and crime scene detectives are on scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths," BSO said in a statement.
Deputies haven't said how they were killed, but a neighbor told NBC 6 she heard gunshots in the area Tuesday night.
"My son had heard them too. I heard like three and he said 'no mom, that's like six or seven shots.' I kept telling him that's no firecrackers, somebody is shooting over there," Catherine Sanders said.
