2 Teens Arrested in Coral Gables Burglary, 1 On the Run

Two suspects were in custody and police were searching for a third after a burglary at a Coral Gables home early Wednesday, officials said.

The burglary happened around 3:30 a.m. at a home in the 1000 block of Capri Street when the suspects entered a patio area, Coral Gables Police said.

The homeowner spotted the suspects and called 911, and officers quickly responded to the home as the suspects tried to flee.

Officers caught one suspect and set up a perimeter. The second suspect was caught with the help of a K-9 unit, police said.

Christopher Ferrera, 19, was arrested and charged with occupied burglary, resisting arrest without violence and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A second suspect, who is only 15, was charged with occupied burglary and resisting arrest without violence.

Three bicycles that are believed to be the transportation for the suspects were impounded, police said.

Police are still searching for the third suspect and are asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
