2 Teens Charged in Cooper City Burglaries

Two teenagers face multiple charges after they allegedly stole goods from five Cooper City homes worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Joel Brito, 18, and John Gomez, 18, both face charges of unarmed burglary, grand theft, and dealing in stolen property for the crimes. Both are accused of the thefts which happened earlier this month off Stirling Road in Cooper City.

Brito and Gomez allegedly made off with items including an Xbox, laptop computers, jewelry, passports, and other items from the victims’ homes. The two would then allegedly sell the items to another party that wasn’t identified in the arrest affidavits.

Brito’s bond was set at $34,000 and Gomez’s bond was set at $33,000.
