Twenty children left the Broward County Courthouse Saturday with someone new to call "Mom" and "Dad."
The kids were officially adopted into 15 different families as part of National Adoption Day.
"It's been a pleasant surprise for us and we're just ecstatic to bring her into our lives," said 17-month-old Ruby's adoptive father Hector Felix. "She's been with us since she was a baby and it feels so natural to us and we're happy to be here and be part of this special event."
The children ranged from 10 months to 15 years of age. Some were siblings who were adopted into the same family.
"It feels exciting," 13-year-old Isaac Reyes said. "I like it, now I have a family."
He and his younger brother Darren, 9, were living in a foster home before they met the Reyes family.
We've been waiting for this for a long time, from the first day we met them 6 months ago," adoptive mother Ann Reyes said. "We are so so happy.
Each of the children being adopted went through the county's child welfare program managed by ChildNet. Right now, more than 100 kids are still waiting for a second chance at a family in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
