23rd Anniversary of Hurricane Andrew's Landfall in South Florida

Monday marks the 23rd anniversary of Hurricane Andrew landing in South Florida.

Andrew made landfall as a Category 5 storm on Aug. 24, 1992, in South Miami-Dade. Winds were estimated at 167 mph when Andrew reached land.

It's estimated Andrew caused $30 billion in damage and 43 U.S. deaths were blamed on the storm.
