2nd Suspect in Barbecue Slashing Turns Self In

Suspect on lam for two weeks surrenders to police

The second man wanted in the slashing death of a man during a Pompano Beach barbecue has turned himself in.

Tony Petigny is in custody after turning himself into police Friday afternoon, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

Petigny, 28, has been on the run since the March 14 stabbing of Guytea Jean Francois at a gathering in the 100 block of Northwest 10 Street.

Francois, 37, had been slashed with a sharp instrument, police said, during a confrontation with Petigny and another man, 32-year-old Sonny Hilaire.

He was rushed to North Broward Medical Center where he later died.

Hilaire was arrested at the scene. Petigny and Hilaire now face charges of 2nd degree murder.
