3 Puppies Rescued From Burning Southwest Miami-Dade Townhouse

They were treated with a pet oxygen mask and taken to an animal hospital

Firefighters rescued three puppies from a burning townhouse in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.

When crews arrived at the home on Monday, they were told that there was a litter of puppies still inside, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.

Firefighters found and rescued the puppies from the burning home, and paramedics treated them on the scene by giving them oxygen with a pet oxygen mask. The pets were then taken to a local animal hospital for further treatment, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.

The fire department said that all of its transport units carry a set of pet oxygen masks that are used at scenes where animals have suffered smoke inhalation. The masks are specially designed to fit over an animal’s snout and come in three sizes.
