Authorities say a 3-year-old boy is dead after falling into a backyard pool at a central Florida home.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that the boy's mother called 911 Thursday afternoon.
Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jeff Williamson says the mother was performing CPR when deputies arrived at the Pine Hills home. Rescue workers arrived a short time later and took the boy to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.
It wasn't immediately clear how the boy ended up in the pool.
