3 Hospitalized After SUV Veers Off Road in Oakland Park

Three people were hospitalized after an SUV veered off a roadway and struck two pedestrians and a utility pole knocking down a powerline in Oakland Park Monday morning.

The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. at 56th Street and North Dixie Highway in front of the Holy Cross HealthPlex, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

Officials said a woman and her 14-year-old son were walking on the sidewalk when they were struck by the SUV. Oakland Park Fire Rescue took the woman to Broward Health North, while the boy was taken to Broward Health Medical Center. Their conditions were unknown.
